Doordarshan National TV Channel (DD1), Doordarshan News (DD News) will live telecast the Independence day August 15 2011 (Monday) from New Delhi. The telecast will start around 7 am or 7.30 am.


Significance of Independence Day:

15 August 2011 is the 65th Independence Day of India. India got freedom from British rule on the same day in 1947. The day will be marked by flag hoisting throughout the country. It is national holiday on this day. All Indians will wear the tricolour in their shirts.
