Manchester Pride To Go On Despite Riots

The organizers of Manchester Pride say this month's events will take place as planned despite the continuing crisis roiling Britain.
Jackie Crozier, festival director of Manchester Pride, said: “What happened last night in Manchester is an absolute disgrace. We live amongst some fantastic people in an amazing city that has grown on its own organically. “We must now stand up for Manchester; business will be going ahead as usual in our gay village and Manchester Pride will be going ahead. We hope to see you all there in a few weeks to celebrate the positive elements of the city of Manchester: its diversity, community and strength.”

ISRAEL: 3000 March In Jerusalem Pride

Over the strenuous objections of religious groups, yesterday about 3000 activists marched in Jerusalem's pride parade. The event coincided with the date of the murderous 2009 attack on a Tel Aviv LGBT youth center. The perpetrators of that attack have still not been apprehended.

ISRAEL: Hate Group Leads Donkeys Through Jerusalem In Pride Protest

An anti-gay group led donkeys through the streets of Jerusalem today in protest of the gay pride parade also taking place. Because gays are like donkeys somehow.
"Muslims, Christians, Jews, all of them are hurt by the fact that the Holy City of Jerusalem is defiled by abominations like today's march in Jerusalem," said Marzel. "These donkeys do not commit acts that are as bad as what the marchers are doing," Marzel added. "The question is why are they allowed to carry out this provocation," explained Ben Gvir. He noted that whenever nationalists request the courts' permission to march through Arab towns like Umm El Fahm, they are made to jump through hoops because the act is considered "a provocation."
Who can translate the signs for us?

SAN DIEGO: Hundreds Of Active Duty Military March Openly In Pride Parade

For first time in American history, yesterday hundreds of openly gay servicemembers marched in a gay pride parade as the military town of San Diego cheered.
The crowd roared as the group waving military flags and holding placards identifying their military branch walked past the thousands. Every branch of service was represented Saturday, including the Coast Guard. Marines and sailors ran out carrying their branch's flags over their heads. One Marine stopped to pose with two towering bikini-clad blondes in stiletto-heeled boots. Onlookers stepped into the parade route to salute them. One man in a rainbow colored shirt waved his feather boa and yelled "Hooah!" the military battle cry. The national Servicemembers Legal Defense Network - representing gay and lesbian active-duty military personnel - informed organizer Sean Sala that they are warning members that it is still a risk to come out as long as "don't ask, don't tell" is on the books. Sala, a former Navy operations specialist, said it's time for the gay and lesbian community to stop hiding in fear.
