David Guetta - Titanium

I probably only like this because it vaguely reminds me of San Francisco's late 90's sound.

HomoQuotable - Ricky Martin

"My shoulders feel much lighter and straighter and I feel my life is a lot more simple now. I lived with the obsession to be accepted for such a long time. But it was when I held my children in my arms I knew I couldn’t do it anymore. I wanted to teach them to be themselves, to know there is nothing wrong with being gay – because there isn’t. I want them to have self-love, pride and dignity. And that means I had to be transparent." - Ricky Martin, who should teach a celebrity course on coming out.

HomoQuotable - Queen Latifah

"I just like ladies who have class. Period. And if it’s 'T and A' you’re sellin’, that’s fine, as long as that’s what you’re selling. But you don’t have to show everything, you know? You can hold some back and just be yourself and let your personality shine and let your individuality show. To me, that’s sexier. A confident woman is a sexy woman, in my opinion." - Queen Latifah, in what some gossip sites are heralding as her first official acknowledgement of being gay.

"We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Shit every day." - Morose pop singer Morrissey, bringing everything back to his vegetarianism, as he always does.

MTV Turns 30

And Boy Culture points us to this magazine spread featuring the original VJs. (Nina Blackwood is almost 70!) I remember sitting on the edge of the sofa with my roommate, anxiously waiting for our cable signal to go from snow to MTV on the first day our local system began carrying it. I also remember how disappointed we were when it was Fleetwood Mac that first appeared on the screen. Embiggen the above image for details on what happened to the first MTV cast.

Dave Koz - This Guy's In Love With You

I posted an audio version of this track back in November, but JMG reader Mark points out that there's now a production video of openly gay jazz artist Dave Koz' cover of this Bacharach classic. Keep an eye out for A&M Records co-founder and multiple Grammy winner Herb Alpert.
