Gemerlapan (1997)

Mimi menggemari muzik dangdut. Kehadirannya di sebuah kolej elit telah menimbulkan pelbagai reaksi. Antaranya, Mel yang merasakan muzik dangdut agak kekampungan, dan Pam yang bimbang popularitinya tergugat. Ketibaan seorang pelajar baru (Mr. X) menyemarakkan lagi persaingan di antara mereka semua. Lama-kelamaan, Mel mulai menyukai Mimi dan selalu menghantar kad-kad misteri kepadanya. Pada suatu hari, pihak kolej telah mengadakan pertandingan nyanyian. Pam yakin dapat mengekalkan kejuaraannya, dan dia juga cuba menyekat penyertaan Mimi. Walau bagaimanapun, rancangan jahat Pam diketahui oleh Mimi dan dia telah membalas perbuatan tersebut sehingga Pam gagal dalam pertandingan itu. Kerana begitu marah, Pam telah memotong bekalan elektrik semasa Mel sedang membuat persembahan. Mel kemudiannya mencapai sebuah gitar lalu menyanyikan sebuah lagu yang senikatanya terdapat dalam kad-kad yang diterima oleh Mimi. Akhirnya, keputusan pertandingan pun diumumkan di mana Mimi telah memenangi pertandingan itu dan dia berkongsi kemenangannya dengan Mel. Tidak lama kemudian, mereka semua pun tamat pengajian dan menerima diploma masing-masing.

Apabila wasiat dibacakan, Kamal tidak mendapat walau sedikit pun harta peninggalan bapanya. Jalil, bapa saudara Kamal mengajak Kamal sekeluarga tinggal bersamanya. Kamal juga diberikan kerja menguruskan syarikat Jalil. Kehidupan Kamal sekeluarga bertambah senang. Tanpa disangka-sangka, panas yang diharapkan hingga ke petang bertukar muram, sebab gerimis turun di tengahari. Ketenteraman rumahtangga Kamal terancam apabila dia bertemu Tinah, seorang penyewa yang berurusan dengan syarikat bapa saudaranya Jalil.

When everything is in short supply, they gradually succumb to hunger and their only entertainment is the light of the fireflies.
