White: The Melody of Curse (2011)



Girl group "Pink Dolls" is always pushed into the background by other popular idols. When the girls release their new song "White" - a remake from unknown origins they become instant sensations. The four members of "Pink Dolls" include Eun-Joo, a former break dancer, Je-ni, a singer insecure with hitting high notes, Ah-Rang, a singer addicted to plastic surgery, and Sin-Ji who can't sing, but is good at rapping and singing. As the group becomes more and more popular, jealousy and competitiveness increases as all the girls tries to become the lead singer. But, when a member becomes the lead singer that person falls victim to a horrible accident, one by one. Eun-Joo then realizes that the song "White" is cursed and she attempts to reveal the secret...



Suicide Forecast (2011)



A former professional baseball player, Byeong-wu, made a successful career transition into a high-flying insurance advisor, thanks to his keen business sense and quick wits. But one day, one of his clients committed suicide and passed away and once hero Byeong-wu is now subject to internal investigation. Now he starts to run through his client list and finds a suspicious group of people introduced to him by the same person - and starts visiting them one by one.



Phungsan Dog (2011)



Part love story, part postwar tragedy, with a dose of comedy thrown in, the low-budget film "Poongsan" depicts the sad reality of the division between the two Koreas. Poongsan (Yoon Kye-sang) has the unenviable – and death-defying – job of delivering messages across the North and South Korean border to separated families. When South Korean government agents ask him to smuggle in In-oak (Kim Kyu-ree), the lover of a high-ranking North Korean defector, into the South, the damsel and rescuer fall in love instead. Written and co-produced by Kim Ki-duk, who just won the Prize Un Certain Regard for "Arirang – Movie" at last month’s Cannes Film Festival, and directed by his protege Jeon Jae-hong, "Poongsan" came to life on just one-tenth of the average budget for Korean films. Poongsan, whose real name is never revealed, is a mysterious man who delivers whatever brings him money by going back and forth between Pyongyang and Seoul. One day, the delivery man is ordered to bring In-oak. She joins the deliveryman on the life threatening journey. In the middle of this trip, In-oak and the man start to fall in love, but their romance is put in jeopardy by the obstacles they encounter.

Link (2011)

Su-jeong and Jae-hyun not only build their friendship but they develop a link that let them share their five senses and even their thoughts. As the link gets stronger, Jae-hyun becomes ever more addicted to Su-jeong’s power. This infatuation with the link endangers Jae-hyun.

Children... (2011)


The film is based on a true yet unsolved murder case from the early 1990s that is known among Koreans as the “disappearance of the frog children.” In 1991, five elementary school students told their parents that they were going to hang out on a nearby mountain to catch frogs. They never came back.In the movie, a TV producer, the devastated parents of the missing children, a professor and a detective all take different stances on the case and in the end one of the parents becomes a primary suspect. In reality, the case morphed into a national scandal.

Hanji (2011)


Low-ranking civil servant Pil Yong (Park Joong Hoon) does not have things easy taking care of a wife (Ye Ji Won) with mobility problems. He takes charge of a hanji project in hopes it will bring him a promotion and deepen his bond with his wife, who comes from a family of hanji masters. One of his tasks include working with quarrelsome filmmaker Ji Won (Kang Su Yeon), who is traveling around shooting a documentary about hanji. Though Pil Yong knows little about the subject to begin with, the more he learns about hanji, the more it takes on a new significance for him and the world around him.

River of Murder (2010)


In 1985, Seung-Ho & Dong-Sik are best friends at the same middle school. They both have a crush on Myeong-Hee, but she doesn’t have the same feelings for either of them. One day, the two best friends make a bet to find out what’s on Myeong-Hee’s mind. But, the next day, Myeong-Hee is found dead & apparently raped. Police officers investigate and finger Dong-Sik’s older brother Kyung-Sik, who is mentally ill, as the prime suspect. Since that time, the relationship between Seung-Ho and Dong-Sik rapidly disintegrates.

The Unjust (2010)


In 2010, South Koreans are terrified by a series of murders targeting children. The police fail repeatedly to capture the killer. Finally, the Korean President becomes directly involved in the case. The cops, feeling pressure from all sides, pursue a possible suspect, but the suspect is shot to death by the cops. To avoid another dead end and any further heat, the National Police Agency wants to target another person, any plausible person, and close the case as soon as possible.

The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008)


A guksu western. Three Korean gunslingers are in Manchuria circa World War II: Do-wan, an upright bounty hunter, Chang-yi, a thin-skinned and ruthless killer, and Tae-goo, a train robber with nine lives. Tae-goo finds a map he's convinced leads to buried treasure; Chang-yi wants it as well for less clear reasons. Do-wan tracks the map knowing it will bring him to Chang-yi, Tae-goo, and reward money. Occupying Japanese forces and their Manchurian collaborators also want the map, as does the Ghost Market Gang who hangs out at a thieves' bazaar. These enemies cross paths frequently and dead bodies pile up. Will anyone find the map's destination and survive to tell the tale?

A Bittersweet Life (2005)


Kim Sun-woo (Lee Byung-hun) is an enforcer and manager for a hotel owned by a cold, calculating crime boss, Kang (Kim Yeong-cheol), to whom he is unquestionably loyal. The two share concerns over business tensions with Baek Jr., a son from a rival family, which is when Kang assigns Sun-Woo what is perceived (at first) to be a simple errand while he is away on a business trip to shadow his young mistress, Heesoo (Shin Min-a), for fear that she may be cheating on him with another, much younger man, with the mandate that he must kill them both if he discovers their affair. As he performs his duty following Heesoo, and escorting her to a music recital one day he becomes quietly enthralled by the girl's beauty and innocence, as glimpses into his lonely, empty personal life become more prevalent.

The Yellow Sea (2010)


On the Chinese side of the China-Russia-North Korea border, in Yanbian, Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Ku-Nam (Ha Jung-woo) toils his days away as a taxi driver. When he is not working he's often found in the gambling halls. Ku-Nam is now in serious debt. His wife left to work in South Korea and promised to send money back. He has yet to hear from her and he is tormented by nightmares of her having an extra-marital affair. Making matters worse, Ku-Nam is fired from his job and debt-collectors take most of his severance pay.
